Scarlet-chested Sunbird flight feeding
Scarlet-chested Sunbirds are strong fliers that often feed on nectare sources too light and flimsy to support their weight so they frequently need to hover while feeding.
These three pictures show a male bird feeding on Metarungia longistrobus flowers.
The photos were taken with a Canon EOS 20D with a 70-200mm F2.8 L IS lens with Sunpak 622 flashes at Amatikulu on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast.
